Helping The Elderly Care for their Pets
One of the areas of need for our assistance that our supporters quickly flagged as we launched Paws for A Purpose, is to help our elderly citizens in caring for, and keeping, their pets.
Elderly people find it harder to get out of their homes, and often can find loneliness and isolation two further issues to add to the hardships they face. For many elderly people, their pets are their closest companions (this is true for many people, certainly not just the elderly) and for those reliant on a pension with no means left to earn money from the workforce, caring for their pets financially can place an added burden on already-stretched finances.
We are keen to connect with registered charities who currently support elderly people in looking after their pets.
If you know of a charity that fits this criteria, or if you belong to one, please reach out to us here and we will be in contact with you.
